Chelating Resin

Chelating resins are specialized ion exchange resins with functional groups capable of forming stable complexes with metal ions. The active sites on chelating resins contain specific functional groups, like iminodiacetic acid, aminophosphonic acid, or thiourea, which have a strong affinity for metal ions. These groups can selectively bind to metal ions through coordination bonds.
Advantage:

Regenerability: Chelating resins can often be regenerated and reused by washing with appropriate regenerating agents, such as acids or bases, which displace the bound metal ions.
