Product Description
Weakly Acidic Polyacrylic Cation Resin for Sugar Decolorization
The functional groups of the ion exchange tree are acrylic acid and methyl acrylic acid. The weakly acidic ion exchange resin has a weak acid functional group called- COOH, which can dissociate in water and release hydrogen ions (H ⁺) into the solution. When the resin is placed in a solution containing cations (e.g., Ca²⁺, Na⁺), it exchanges those cations with the hydrogen ions (H⁺) or other cations attached to the resin. The exchanged ions are then held by the resin, while the released hydrogen ions move into the solution, potentially lowering the pH.
